Mysterybus '09
Well the day started great this past saturday ( march 21). I had gotten the word late Friday that I was not working Saturday morning so I was going to be there before lunch! Sarah and Drew were not feeling very well so the first bad news was that they were staying home. Well I figured since Donnie was wanting to go so badly that he, Anthony and I would head down. We got the bus packed and ready. I had inspected Heinz, changed his fuel filter and adjusted his brakes Thursday to make sure everything was good to go. No problems showed up! I came home Friday and began packing. We got everything ready and headed out Saturday around 10am. The plan was to stop for gas at Childersburg Then stop at Wally World for food and get to Lee and Heather's place about noon or so. I turned onto 76 from 25 heading to 280 and all was well! Heinz was running like a dream...about one block from the intersection of 76 and 280 the engine just quit...like someone turned the key off. He was getting plenty of gas so it had to be ignition. I swapped distributors with one I have with points thinking maybe the petronix died...nothing. It had to be the coil and naturally that is the one thing I don't have extra in the bus. So I waited...and waited...and waited a bit more and finally someone stopped and let me use their cell phone to call Sarah. She looked and no coil at the house. She found me on 76 and told me the news. SOO off to the parts place she went. Luckily they had one and only one VW coil in stock. Duralast not Bosch but it worked! By this time it was after four. The boys and I were hungary so we went and got something to eat. We decided to go on home since it was so late and me being a bit leary of Heinz untill I could go through the system to be sure nothing else is wrong. Donnie noticed we were stopped in the woods! I told him that we can not camp there 'cause it was the wrong woods! So he got upset that we could not cook dogs and marshmallows in "da wong woods"! I promiced him and the rest of the family we would go camping next weekend or the next...I have just checked the weather and this comming weekend may not be good...it may be stormy. But I hope that we can have Mysterybus '09 take 2 either this weekend or the next! I need it, Donnie needs it and Sarah needs it! Life with old Volkswagens is always an adventure...that is why they say "It's not a car, it's a Volkswagen"!!

I was there!!! Had a blast... Cant go this weekend. Weather is gonna be bad and I am on call. So maybe the next weekend or the one after that or both I dont care! I will be there!

Either one or both for me too! This comming weekend is good! Ansd if it is ok I have some friends that may want to bring their bus down!
